Pool renovation and waterproofing in Teulada

Teulada and Moraira make up a single municipality, but they are two different worlds. Teulada sits a few kilometres back from the sea and higher up, among vineyards and almond terraces. The salt air that eats away at everything on the coast counts for far less here.

Something else takes its place. Further from the sea, the nights cool down more sharply. That gap between day and night keeps a pool structure working all year round, and it is exactly that movement that cracks tiling and grout, especially in older block built pools on a sloping plot.

A seamless polyurea layer is flexible and bridges cracking in the substrate. No grout lines left to wash out and no tiles left to come loose.

The historic centre around the fortified church of Santa Catalina is all narrow streets and terraced houses, many of them with a flat roof or azotea on top. Those roofs usually sit directly above living space and are not easy to get to.

Out in the countryside the landscape is one of muscat vine terraces and riu-raus, the open arched buildings once used for drying raisins. Between them stand villas and fincas with a pool of their own, often with outbuildings added over the years and roofs that have been patched more than once.

In Teulada that means looking roof by roof at whether the existing build-up still has any strength left in it. If it has, the polyurea goes over it after preparation. If it has not, it comes off first, and we will tell you so.
