Pool renovation and waterproofing in Altea
Seamless polyurea for pools, azoteas and terraces in Altea, Altea la Vella and Altea Hills.
From infinity pool to classic village terrace
Altea has two very different sides: the historic centre with its whitewashed houses and compact roof terraces, and the urbanisations higher up with modern villas and infinity pools. Both run into the same problem, it simply shows itself in different ways.
On infinity pools the weak points are the overflow channel and the junctions, where water is always moving and a rigid finish gives way first. In the old town it is more often terraces above living space, where a leak shows up indoors straight away.
Polyurea appeals in both cases because the layer runs seamlessly over edges, channels and corners. There is no joint left behind to become the weak spot again a few seasons later.
Azoteas under full sun
The flat roofs, or azoteas, of Altea sit in full sun for most of the year, with big temperature swings between day and night. Traditional bituminous layers go hard and brittle in those conditions in the end.
A polyurea system stays flexible and moves with the building, and in most cases it can go over the existing substrate once the surface has been properly prepared and primed.
Working in Altea
We assess the substrate on site first and settle on the system and the primer from there. A quotation follows, with a clear description of what we will do.
In the old town, access sometimes needs a bit of thought. We take that into account during the visit, so the planning is realistic.
