Pool renovation and waterproofing in Benitachell

Benitachell lies between Jávea and Moraira, and the municipality runs all the way from a quiet village on the plateau down to the cliffs above Cala Moraig and Cala Llebeig. In the urbanisations on that slope, Cumbre del Sol among them, almost every plot has been cut into the hill or built up.

That means a lot of pools do not simply sit in the ground but rest on a retaining wall or an excavated terrace. A structure like that works: it expands in summer, contracts in winter and sometimes settles a little more. A rigid finish of mosaic tiles and grout cannot follow that movement and cracks.

A polyurea coating is one seamless, flexible layer over the whole shell. It bridges hairline cracks instead of passing them on, and there are no grout lines left for water to escape through.

Anyone living here knows how close the sea is: the Penya-segats cliff path runs just behind the houses. With an onshore wind, salt spray settles on terraces, roof edges and pool copings.

At that height most houses also stand in full sun with no shade, and many terraces sit directly above a living room or a garage. When the waterproofing fails there, you only notice once it comes through indoors.

Polyurea runs as a single layer across the field, the upstands and the drains, which is exactly where things usually go wrong.
