Pool renovation and waterproofing in Albir

L'Alfàs del Pi comes in two parts: the village inland and the resort of Albir on the coast. In between lies a belt of villas, bungalow complexes and small apartment blocks, almost all of them with a pool. Very often that is a communal pool used by dozens of households.

A shared pool takes a beating all season: heavy use, no tolerance for being closed for long, and the bill lands with the community. That is exactly when it grates to be regrouting and replacing tiles every few years.

Polyurea puts one flexible, seamless layer over the whole shell. Once cured it takes use again quickly, which keeps the pool out of action for as short a time as possible.

Albir has a pebble beach and a broad promenade, with the Serra Gelada rising behind it where the path to the lighthouse begins. That setting means full sun and sea wind across the terraces.

Many houses here have a flat roof or a solarium above the living space. Under this sun, traditional bituminous layers go hard and brittle in the end, and then split at the first serious autumn downpour.

A polyurea system stays flexible and seals the upstands and drains seamlessly too, which is precisely where leaks begin.
